Vaz speaks on the future of policing

In his capacity as Chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee

In his capacity as Chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee, local MP Keith Vaz addressed an ippr conference, ‘Fitting the Bill,’ on the future of policing. This conference was sponsored by the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA).  

Issues covered throughout the day included police accountability and public engagement, the central-local balance and police targets. 

The event featured a variety of speakers with a wealth of knowledge on all issues surrounding modern day policing, including former Mayor of London Ken Livingstone, Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling, Ian Johnston, President of the Police Superintendents’ Association and David Blunkett MP.
